Kansas Maternal Mortality Review Committee
The purpose, mission and vision of the Kansas Maternal Mortality Review Committee (MMRC) is to review maternal mortality cases closely to understand all medical and social factors leading to these tragic events, aiming to help eliminate all preventable maternal deaths in Kansas.
The Kansas MMRC is a program within the Bureau of Family Health at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE). Its members review maternal mortality cases and make recommendations for improving outcomes for birthing women. The maternal mortality work is housed in our Title V section to align with other Title V programs such as Maternal Child Health (MCH), Pregnancy Maintenance, Teen Pregnancy Targeted Case Management.
